Jerod Nieder is a very active quadriplegic, research participant, and husband, known for his Instagram platform @PositivelyParalyzed. Leveraging the power of social media to educate, inform and inspire, he has gained national recognition garnering over 6M views! Jerod aims to build relationships and create community, both online and in-person, by sharing his passion for adventures and travel, through his @PositivelyParalyzed lens of accessibility, inclusion and representation.
Currently in Louisville, Kentucky, with his dog, Belle, and wife, Hanna, Jerod has been a participant at the Kentucky Spinal Cord Injury Research Center for 8 years. Jerod’s spinal cord injury happened December 18, 2011 from a diving accident, and 10 years later, December 18, 2021, Jerod married Hanna, transforming the date into positive memory. Jerod leads by example and hopes his @PositivelyParalyzed platform inspires others to do the same.
