Bio
Sherman Gillums Jr. currently serves as the Senior Director of Public Policy and Advocacy for the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation. He served 12 years in the United States Marine Corps, joining at age 17, and was honorably discharged at the rank of Chief Warrant Officer-2 due to a career-ending spinal cord injury. After a period of rehabilitation, he began the next phase of his life as a national service officer candidate with Paralyzed Veterans of America, eventually rising to become the national executive director for the organization.
