Grand Canyon on a Trike?!

Matthew Rodreick

I know many of you read CureCast host and CAN Manager Jason Stoffer’s piece from late last year, Crossing the Vastness: An Adaptive Team’s Journey from Rim to Rim of the Grand Canyon. Indeed, it remains one of our most read posts ever.

In that piece, Jason (above left) tells the story of his journey with fellow U2FP colleague Quinn Brett (above right) and another para-athlete as they attempt to be the first-ever individuals to tackle the Grand Canyon on adaptive trikes.

Well, their travel partner, Robbie Prechtl, was filming this journey and has created a short documentary about their experience. Join U2FP for a special screening of this short film at the Tek Box Theater, in the Hennepin Center for the Performing Arts, on Tuesday June 4th at 7pm.

Jason and Quinn will be there to talk about their experience after the screening, and how these challenges mirror their quest to restore function after SCI. We’ll have complimentary drinks and dessert during the Q&A session as well. Tickets are just $25 and all proceeds benefit U2FP.

Jason and Quinn are excited to take the conversation to the next level, connecting their training and logistical abilities to their work for U2FP, and how these physical excursions highlight the need for restorative treatments for SCI.

So come share your voice - whether that means coming across town, coming in from the suburbs, or making a special trip from farther out to share in this special event. You won't want to miss it. Feel free to reach out with any questions about parking or accessibility.
