Restore SCI Funding - Add Your Voice!

Matthew Rodreick

Today we are joining a collective of organizations who represent multiple diseases and conditions that were affected by cuts to the CDMRP (Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program), which is housed within the Department of Defense.

We’re joining forces with other affected disease conditions to raise the overall volume - but make no mistake, restoring spinal cord injury research funding is our focus.

To recap: on March 15, Congress enacted legislation that drastically reduced funding for the Department of Defense Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program. Funding has been cut by 57%, from $1.5 billion to $650 million, impacting critical research on SCI and many other conditions. This research is designed first and foremost to ensure the health and well-being of the men and women who serve in the Armed Services.

Call on Congress to restore this vital funding for our troops and our nation! Please call your Senators and Representative (find your congressperson here) and say the following: "I'm calling to ask that you refund SCIRP: the Spinal Cord Injury Program in CDMRP. [Then tell your personal story]." This should take no more than five minutes.

If you don't have 5 minutes then click this link and send the form.

Be sure to personalize your message to express how CDMRP affects you - tell your story of living with SCI!

Together, let's help #restoreCDMRP.

Thanks for raising your voice!
