So Close It's Scary
Quinn Brett
We are incredibly close - less than $8,000 away - from hitting our matching goal of $100,000. If you are in a position to give, now is the time. Your money will go twice as far, thanks to an anonymous SCI donor who is matching all gifts (up to $100,000!) to U2FP through the end of the day today.
But the clock is ticking. With less than 12 hours to go, we don't want to miss the opportunity to double the impact of our programs, like:
- Lab Rats, which places people with an injury into SCI research labs as lived-experience consultants
- CureCast Podcast, which provides interviews with SCI scientists and advocates, unpacking cure research from the SCI community's point of view
- Cure Advocacy Network (CAN), which passes and then helps oversee state legislation that funds SCI research for functional recovery
In fact, Traci Fernandez (the woman pictured with the walker in the graphic above) is a beneficiary of our CAN work in Minnesota. At our 2023 symposium she demonstrated her improved sit-to-stand transfer capabilities that was the result of the Minnesota SCI/TBI Research Grant program U2FP helped pass. That's just one of the four bills we've helped SCI community advocates pass (MN, WA, PA, OH) in the last nine years.
The CAN is poised to pass another $3M bill in Wisconsin next session, and is scheduled to exceed $40M in total legislative appropriations for spinal cord injury by the end of this year. Your support will help continue this work that is having a real impact for individuals with a spinal cord injury.
Scan the QR code, click the donate button or date and mail a check today to help U2FP maximize this generous matching opportunity from another member of the SCI community.
Let's go!
